Stress Response

When your system has been running on high alert

Stress is not only something you think about. It is something your body responds to. A demanding job, poor sleep, pain, grief, caregiving, training load and constant mental pressure can all add to the load your nervous system is trying to manage.

Sometimes that response settles when the challenge passes. Sometimes people feel as though their system has forgotten how to switch off. They may feel wired but tired, tense, depleted, less resilient or unable to recover as they once did.

Building a more adaptable system

Our role is not to tell you that every symptom is “just stress”. We listen to what has changed, assess relevant physical and neurological function and consider stress as one part of the whole picture. Care may include chiropractic adjustments, breathing or recovery strategies, movement, education and other supportive tools appropriate to your needs.

This is not a substitute for mental health or medical care

Stress-response support can sit alongside care from your GP, psychologist, counsellor or other health professional. If your symptoms suggest that another form of assessment or treatment should come first, we will say so.

A useful first step

You do not need to decide whether your symptoms are physical, neurological, hormonal or stress-related before booking. Our job is to listen, assess what is within our scope and help you work out the most sensible next step.
